Does your wheel autopilot work well?

Yes mine squeaks as well.  It's a slow and steady creak in my case, not too excessive.  When I close my eyes I just imagine that it sounds like the creaks and groans of the wooden ships of old  :D   Apparently the cause is due to the rollers in the wheel drive.  Raymarine advises to open up the drive and apply a very light smear of light marine grease to the bearings (but take care not to contaminate the belt friction surfaces).

QuoteMY biggest complaint with the EV100 wheel pilot is it squeaks like crazy. I read it helps to rinse it with fresh water but that doesn't seem to help me much. I guess I need to bring it home and clean it up.  Hard to enjoy a nice peaceful sail with it making all that noise.

I keep a squeeze bottle of water handy, it's a small size dawn dish soap bottle.  If/when the drive squeaks I start squirting.  That helps.  If it gets too bad need to replace the belt and the bushings/bearings.  Raymarine says not to lubricate, I did with McLube one drop at the bushings/bearings.  Wasn't successful, maybe because the parts were already worn.  Maybe some dry Teflon would work.
