I have a water ingress in the forepeak below the forward bunk. The water collects on the forward side of the bulkhead. I am 99% sure it is fresh! No leaks at the log fitting. It is not a major leak!!
The forward water tank is full

Gilbo,

A few questions. What model year is the boat? You have forward water tank? Is the boat in salt or fresh water? What's a log fitting? Also you can leak a gallon or more from a tank before you can tell it's not full.

Check/replace the anchor locker drain hose?

Thanks guys for prompt response! Appreciated. When next onboard I will satisfy the salt or fresh test with judicious use of the finger!
And take a good look at the drain on the cable locker.
The log is what we call the fitting for the speed impeller!

I had the same problem. My anchor locker, where the anchor winch is mounted, had small cracks caused by the jerking of the winch. Water got in there (including rainwater, which ran into the anchor locker) and landed in the foot area of the bunk.

The water is lying below the bunk, held by the bulkhead that has the transducer small hinged cover for want of better identification!
If you put your hand through the small access to clean the transducer you would discover the puddle!

Could be a number of things.  I would first check the area around and under the water tank, because that's easy.  Next would be the tank fill and vent.  Then would be the anchor locker and drain, think I'd check that by emptying the anchor locker, drying the bilge wet area, then hose fill the anchor locker, then look for water in the bilge area.  May also be a stanchion or pulpit leak that follows the inside of the hull all the way down.
Hope that helps,
Jim

Many thanks for useful guidance! I will investigate on my next visit.

Gilbo : The first thing that I'd try is to rebed that transducer with vinyl rubber.
