Compressor wiring

Hello, I am installing my brand new Isotherm compressor (left in boat by PO) in the STB storage location, forward of STB water tank.  I think my lines will reach without extensions, but I am looking for advice on how to run power back to the panel from this location.  My current A/B compressor is in the aft STB locker but that run would require extensions and seems painful to reinstall there even though there is already power.

Any advice on this?

Thanks much.

Rich, I have a MK1 and my compressor module is located in the same spot fwd of the stbd water tank. The power cable runs from there to the hull then along the hull under the lip the removable panel over the tank sits on, then turns by the fridge to run along the bulkhead for the aft vertical saloon seat cushion under the galley drawers and sink, under the floor across the bilge to the bulkhead the macerator mounts to, then along that bulkhead up through the hole the holding tank hose passes through to the main distribution panel.

Just make sure that you use proper gauge wire and fuse for that distance run.

Thanks.  I am with you until "under the floor across the bilge to the bulkhead".  Is there an "easy" way to get under there to pull it across the bilge?

You have omitted the rest of Jon's sentence which means you missed the context of it completely.

He wrote:  under the floor across the bilge to the bulkhead the macerator mounts to, then along that bulkhead up through the hole the holding tank hose passes through to the main distribution panel.

The underlined part is what you missed, and it answers your question completely.

From the forward part of where the water heater sits, you run the power wire across the bilge to the macerator compartment aft of the holding tank and then up to the distribution panel.

Rich : Here's another route. Go along the inside of the setae ridge up to the battery compartment and drill a small hole so the the wire can go into the battery compartment. Go thru the battery compartment to the end of the battery compartment and then down and follow the battery wires thru the factory conduit pipes and then up to the instrument panel.

I'd recommend that you take some light line or string and have it follow both of the routes and then you can decide which to run the actual wire. I'd recommend 12 gage wire (at least 14 gage).

On the MK1 there's a removable piece of floor by the water heater to access the bilge and aft most keel bolt. It also gives access to pull the wires across the bilge.

Jon/Ron thank you, I will look for those access points when I go to the boat tomorrow.

I have an airhead so no macerator/tank/hose there, but I think if I can get it across the bilge I can find the way to the panel.

Thanks
