Hard to tell what's normal when you're in a new boat system, but green corrosion never looks good to me. I noticed this and the broken hose clamp when I removed the Heat Ex zinc. Is this corrosion normal?
If human intelligence is insufficient, why think something artificial modeled after it would be better?

Porch : You just need to clean that corrosion with with Lime-A-Way or FSR ( fiberglass stain remover).  The I spray a shot of BO7 Boshield or grease/vasoline on it. That will leave a waxy/grease coating so salt water won't corrode it.  Next time on the hard you need to check how the inside packing is doing.

The stain should come right off.  I'd suggest that you check to make sure that the lock nut is not fused to the gland nut - for future adjustments.

I'd replace all of the hose clamps on that packing gland!!
