On last years cruise some docking was against pilings and was a lot of surge.  The sheer stripe tape got scuffed by the fenders, I'll take a fender board next time I go that way if I find a place to store it.
My question is.  Has any one replaced a section of the sheer stripe tape?  I see Catalina Direct has what looks to be the correct tape.   Or is it better to buy from somewhere else?  How difficult is it to do?
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I had the same problem over 10 years ago when we had a northeastern storm that scuffed up the rub rail and stripe tape in our slip. Yes, you can get replacement tapes from Catalina Direct. Just make sure that you give them your model year, color and width of the tape.

Not hard to do with the right finesse.  Did you ever try to apply tape in a straight line before?

Success.     :clap   Looks like new.   Was easy to put on.  I bought from Catalina Yachts, came with an second wide stripe that I had to cut off.  They said that's what they do at the factory, sounds very inefficient.  Was a bear removing the old stripe.  Used plastic razor blade to remove the tape.  Acetone, plastic razor and lots of paper towels to remove left over adhesive.  Then polishing compound and another quick wipe with acetone.  Made a measuring stick the length from the rub rail aluminum to the top of the stripe and used that to mark where the top of the stripe should be.  Then followed instructions from Catalina Yachts and Catalina Direct.
