Greetings,

I am looking to replace my circulating water pump... I have the Universal M25 engine which Catalina used for one year before going to the XP engine.  Stu Jackson gave me the source of Depco Pumps which I used for my water pump last year... will call them on Monday.  Any further ideas?

Mark Depco doesn’t sell Kubota engine parts (our engines are made by Kubota and were marineized by Universal.)

You have 3 options:

Westerbeke; I’m guessing about $300
A local Kubota dealer (or online Messicks.com is very good); I think it’s $70-80.
Kumar Bros, I believe it’s about half the Kubota cost.

I’m not where I can get to my part numbers but the Kubota (and universal) parts manuals are on the wiki.
Wiki > manuals

The Kumar are not genuine Kubota but I haven’t heard anyone having an issue with their parts. [for Kumar Bros] You don’t need the part no, just hit amazon or giggle with “Kubota D850 coolant pump”. Or “Kubota B6200 tractor coolant pump”.   Who knows, Kubota might get them from the same source?
They typically include a new gasket.
Save your old pump as sometimes the new pump doesn’t include the small hose nipple for the water heater connection.
It’s best to pull your old one first just on the outside chance that you find that a stud/nut is seized and you need to order new ones.

Ken,

Didn't you recently do a very good writeup here on the parts number(s) for that pump?

Would it be possible for you to find that thread and post a link to your excellent presentation?

Mark : When you replace that internal water pump just be careful cleaning off the old gasket material.  That front engine casting is an Aluminum alloy and easily scored.

I also used some Hi-temp Locktight sealant beside the new gasket.

I don't recall a write up on the -25 / XP coolant pump. Possibly. There were several posts a while back about the XPB and 35B coolant pump.

As I said I don't have access to my parts numbers but from the simple giggle search I suggested:

Coolant Kubota circulation pump for M-25 and XP

I bought a thermostat and gasket from Country Sales and Service LLC. Just looked and their PN 15534-73030 is for Kubota d750, d850 and d950. Price is $117.77.

Truth be told....

I ordered a pump from Niemec Bros.... $385, $17 for the Hose nipple, and $4.00 for the gasket..  THEN I checked back on this website and found all the good info and part #s for Kubota... from you wonderful guys!!

So, I went a mile up the road to my local Kubota dealer and ordered the pump for something like $152.00  and it came with the hose nipple, no extra charge.  We  are installed and up and running ... and Niemic Bros said no problem returning and no restocking charge.

NEXT ...  in the process my air filter seems fahocta... (yiddish for messed up.. and I'm Irish)  Suggestions on replacing that?

A big thank you to all on this website... it is the best!!

Depends on what your problem is. I believe you can buy a direct replacement for the OEM air filter. Some folks kept the OEM filter, but put a foam pad around the outside they got from NAPA that fits the diameter but is a little taller so needed to be trimmed. Some of us have replaced the OEM wire mesh air filter with a K&N filter. I think the PN is RU-2450.

Always a good idea to ask —> buy

What specifically about the air (silencer) intake/filter?
The Foam or the guts? Do you have the coffee can type or the enclosed one?

The OEM air filter assembly is available at CD, although not a bargain, it works. They also sell foam cover replacements.
