Where can I buy the teflon tape that the hatch cover slides on?

I'd like to know too!

www.mcmaster.com has quite a selection of specialty tapes.  I'd consider UHMW, perhaps more durable than Teflon.

Stu, where are you when we need you?

I don't remember were I got it, but the roll of Teflon that I still have says " CHR Industries Inc., New Haven Conn." on ythe inside sleeve.
Good Luck. I don't recommend using it for the companion way sliding hatch. I rather have a good resistance for the sliding surface so the crew will not lean against the hatch and not fall threw.

I bought teflon tape directly from Catalina.  Easy, quick, and not too expensive.  So far, the new tape has lasted two years (the original made it 4 1/2 years).

Sometimes the easiest answer is not the most obvious.  I just emailed Catalina and they said:

it is $1.10 per ft call parts at 818-884-7700

I got a reply from Robert at Parts at Catatila today as well, and have ordered some.

This is further proof af why this is such a good boat; factory support as well as owners' support.

I intend just to patch in the loose area, and not do the whole strip, since I couldn't get the hatch off w/o a great deal of disassembly.

Peter,

We replaced both entire pieces on Tweety Bird, a Mark II.  I recommend that you do the same, or (per Murphy) the ends will eventually lift.

At $1.10 per foot, you may as well replace it all.

Peter,

I forgot to tell you, if you lift the hatch, you only have about an inch or so of the tape underneath it, so you can easily remove it all.
