Bob,

Your Series 30 blocks - they can't be switched to a U shackle pin - the bodies are identical, but the pin isn't removable/interchangeable with the mast block.  So your least cost would be a double-U swivel shackle (about 8 boat bucks).

To see if that would work for you, slack a line, hold a block down/in toward the base so that the single shackle on the block pin intersects the mast collar pin hole (ie, eliminate the 2nd shackle), and see if the line clears the organizer.  If it does I'd go that way.  If not then you need a 30-LS US block, List is $40 for either the polished stainless or anodized aluminum.

I usually discount Garhauer 10% to PAID UP Catalina Assn members, but the shop has them on sale for !0% right now, so can't further discount them.

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the tradewinds in your sails.

Three blocks, two of them from our old mainsheet system, middle one is not, from a mast base with the fitting.  You can see the (slight) difference in dimensions.  Bu the bases are enough alike to simply remove the D shackles.
