Hi
I have two hoses from the hot water heater that connect to the engine- m25   catalina 34 1986.   I am not sure they are connected correctly in  the right locations as I might have mixed up the connections when I redid the hoses.    Can someone provide some assistance.

Thanks

The connections don't matter.  It is just a loop for hot engine water to pass through.  Direction doesn't matter.  One hose should connect to the water pump, the other the thermostat housing.

Gary : As Ken mentioned it makes no difference as the hot water heater is just another "heat exchanger".

In this case the heated coolant from the engine (50% Prestone/water mix) goes into the water heater and the heat is transferred to the fresh water.
If you ever get into trouble with an overheating engine and MUST run the engine (ie. safety or to dock) turn on the hot water in the head and the galley to help cool down the engine coolant.
