John,
When I bought my boat (our hull numbers are similar), the manual that I got for the engine was not correct (for one thing, the oil capacity was wrong).  There might have been other incorrect aspects. I then received a new updated manual.  Maybe you have the original manual, and there are errors other than the oil capacity that I noticed.  Possibly the new manual is something you should get.

Regards.

Does anyone have a picture of a ball valve mounted on an M35AC?

Mike, for what purpose?

Sorry... I guess I could have been more specific!  I like MaineSail's ball valve bleed system, but I'm trying to determine where I'd put such a thing on my thermostat housing.  My petcock is damaged and can't be opened without vice grips or pliers.

Mike,

I haven't used my petcock since 1999.  Here's why:

This method actually does exactly what an air vent would do, it removes all the air.

Anyway, as nice as Maine Sail's idea is, I'm not sure there's enough room below the stairs and above the thermostat for it.

Saw that, and appreciate it, but nervous since I don't know the differences between M25 and M35.  Same hose configuration and process?

Yup.  The Burping link had a photo of my M25 engine, and this http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,4588.msg27078.html#msg27078  shows the M35B.

Mike, petcocks are easily replaced, it;s just 1//8" npt thread.
I replaced my old rusty steel one that was on the muffler with an all-brass one.
