Hello all,

When it rains really hard or when it's been raining for a while, water seems to pool up in the area where the companionway sliding hatch goes when it is open. (Not sure what this area is called). When I close the hatch after opening it all that water will come splashing down into the companionway. Does anyone else experience this and is there an easy fix?

Thanks!

You most likely need to clear the drains at the outboard forward ends of the wood trim.

You can read more by doing an advanced search on "hatch drains" using my name.  (Use the Search tab on the header of these pages between Help and Admin.)

Switch : If you can't find those drain slots on the outboard side of those teak boards (where they meet the deck) about 4 " from the bow end; you might have to remove those board strips as the slots are all gunked-up!!
