Recently purchased a new toy.  95 VW camper van.  Simple system, start battery and house battery.  House is charged by engine through a selenoid or via shore power.  Second day of our first road trip killed the house battery because the selenoid failed. Would like to add a circuit to show the house is getting charged.  Have a couple ideas.  Electrical Guru's what do you think?  One pic shows a warning light.  I think I will use a volt meter instead.  I only   want to show charging when the engine is running not house battery voltage.  Have a seperate system for that.

Do you have a schematic or model no on the alt?  There should be a terminal for an idiot light — you remember those olde dashboards? ;-)
Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the tradewinds in your sails.

I've seen a number of RV installs which use an ACR with a remote light on the dash.
