I have tried and tried and not found anything either.   When you say you cut a 1/2 inch off the opening did you just cut a piece from left to right or did you cut and remove the teak "lip" overhanging the space on the top?   What kind did you end up putting in there?

Finally did it.   Davits and aft rail supports installed.  Solid as a rock and look amazing.  Big project but doable with careful planning and measuring.  Mark at Garhauer was a huge help.

I second the Mermaid condensate thing.   Also my ac was added with a new thru hull above the water line on the starboard side in the berth hanging locker.

Laying here in the vberth in the Abacos cool as can be.  16,000 BTU .  Unit mounted in the forward starboard side settee. Vent in vberth next to my head on starboard side.  Main large vent in salon above the unit and Also an aft cabin vent.   73 degrees in here after a very hot day

Hey guys.  I was going to post about my trip starting a week from today to the Abacos from Merritt Island, Florida via West Palm Beach and I realized this old thread was still around.  For anyone interested in following our progress feel free to follow along on this link.

Tom is right.  I have refilled mine twice no problems.

What I forgot to do is look at how much liquid is in there when it is full.   Right now in terms of liquid it is about 2/3rds full when I look at it so I am assuming it is something close to full.   Any thoughts from the propane experts out there?

Not sure why it is like this there, but I have yet to go to a marina in the Abacos Bahamas where there has been a cleat on any dock, piling or anywhere.  I use all these tricks to help get in unfamiliar slips but it can be a real challenge (especially with inexperienced crew) when the only way to tie up the boat are round turns and hitches, clove hitches etc around dock pilings.  Plus most of the slips are for much bigger (longer) boats so  trying to keep the boat in the slip and not flopping around while you try and get lines over pilings can be quite an adventure.   Usually a marina helper there for you but even then can be a challenge.  Fortunately any docking stress is usually overcome by the cold Kalik Gold waiting for you.

Thanks Stu.  I was already there last night (via a google search) but the one they mention does not appear to fit by about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch.  It is the closest choice but still not short enough.  No removable feet so you can't do that. Might still try it but hoping for something else.   I do have emails into quite a few camper/rv sites who carried the previous model which was less than 10 inches
