Main Message Board / Aft cabin rear bulkhead
April 12, 2009, 05:54:46 PM
I have removed all of the screws holding the aft bulkhead. It is still stuck. Is it glued in place? What is the best way to remove the bulkhead after removing the screws?

Main Message Board / Sink Drain Upgrade
April 05, 2009, 02:17:51 PM
I just completed the sink drain upgrade that is listed on the projects page. Unbelievably easy with the access panel I installed earlier this year. Whole project took less than an hour. I got to the point where everything had been re-routed, connected and tightened and I opened the through hull.......................no leaks!!!!! Next, I filled each sink and then drained each one...... again, no leaks. Now the big test. I filled both sinks and drained them at the same time. Success. Flow rate is higher and I even got a whirlpool action when it drained. Great project. :thumb:

Main Message Board / Sink Drain Project Advice
March 27, 2009, 06:04:36 AM
I have all the major parts to redo the sink drain system as is mentioned in the project section. Also, with my gnu access panel I installed, this project should be easier due to the increased access. Now my question..... As I mentioned a long time ago, the nipple coming off my through hull does a 90 degree bend. My first task is to replace this with a straight nipple (OK Stop the visualization!). Once I get it out, what is the preferred type material to replace it with? I've seen PVC, Brass and any number of types at Home Depot and West Marine. Look forward to getting this done and having a speedy drain!

Barefoot Sailing Club is hosting their 4th Annual Celtic Crossing on Saturday, May 2. Fleet boats such as Winedog are past participants and can tell of the great times. This is NOT a race; but, a fun filled day on and off the water. On the water events include the best decorated boat, best song or dance, Leprechaun Over Board drill. This year we will be having Scottish Putt Putt, and a Celtic Pageant for our land events. As with past years, Hometown Spirits will be providing our .... Spiritual support for this event.  :thumb: Live Celtic music will be in abundance! For more info contact Lance Jones :party

Main Message Board / Engle auxilary refrigeration
March 17, 2009, 09:27:09 AM
I have been looking at the Engle MT-35/43 Mid-size 34 or 43 Qt. Commercial Refrigerator/Freezer as an auxiliary to the Adler Barbour I have now (At least when I get it working.) Has anyone ever, or known anyone who has used, this system? I looked at it and the many options it offers at the Miami Boat Show. It will fit under the Nav Station quite easily and DOES switch automatically between 12v DC and 110v AC.

Kitty and I will be moving aboard in April for the duration of the warm season in Georgia and would like MORE cold food & beverage storage. Please advise y'all.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

After months of contemplation, purchasing parts, and awaiting the right time, I've finally finished Captain Al's 3 sliding shelf modification to my nav closet! :clap

The sliding shelves mentioned by Al are no longer carried by Home Depot. Their replacement product already has cross connectors between the tracks. So, I modified the construction a bit.

Installation was different in that I had to cut some off the top of the vertical supports to get it inside the cabinet. However, once inside, the mounting was pretty straight forward. Me wife is now happy!!!!! Now I just have a few tweaks to finish it off.

Main Message Board / Catalina Specific Parts
March 01, 2009, 03:50:05 AM
As Catalina Yachts is still moving parts from their plant/warehouse in CA to their location in FL, try contacting them for your Catalina specific parts needs. They have found tons of bits and pieces during the moving process and it's cheaper to sell them than it is to move them.

I got a great deal on a set of new C-34 sails that they recently uncovered. As I don't PHRF race my boat, cruising sails are fine. Give them a call if you need something.

Main Message Board / Stern Pulpit Seats for a Mk I C-34
February 26, 2009, 07:30:27 AM
For all of you out there who like the stern pulpit seats on the Mk II's, I recently picked up the stern perch after market seats from Zarcor. They install in about 15 minutes each, are great AND the company really offers really good support.

To install:
1) Remove product from the box
2) Install seat leg and tighten Allan screw
3) Insert wing bolt into clamp
4) Tighten clamps on stern rail
5) Sit back on seats and enjoy your favorite adult beverage!!!!!! :clap

Main Message Board / Miami Boat Show

Thanks to all who came by the Gill Booth and said hi! It was a beautiful show with awesome weather. Wish I could have had Kitty's Cat with me to sail after the show closed each day.

Look for the new C 445 at the Pacific Show. Awesome boat. Yes, I know the details; but, have been sworn to secrecy! 8)

Main Message Board / Adler Barbour Issue
January 22, 2009, 04:11:06 PM
I removed the 15a fuse from my AB. It was blown. I also found a loose wire. My problem is that I can't see or get back there to figure out where it goes. Is there any other way to get back there?

Main Message Board / Storage area liner
January 12, 2009, 01:28:07 PM
Yes, it's me again.....
What is the material that lines the opening to the storage areas behind the settees? I called Catalina Direct and they didn't have it; but, they did know what I was talking about. I plan to line the access opening I'll be adding behind the sink to cover the edges of the cut.

Thanks in advance!

Main Message Board / Storage/Access question
January 12, 2009, 05:37:14 AM
I have enjoyed all the posts on this site and there is a wealth of insight into our wonderful boats. Thanks for all the help. :clap

Now for the question...

Has anyone ever put an access panel BEHIND the sink? I was thinking of cutting an access panel through the back of the settee similar to those used for storage behind the port & starboard settee's. Are there any problems other than watch out for hoses, wires, etc? Also, what is the material that they use to line the cut out on this type installation to guard the rough edges. My other option was a drop down door to cover it.

Cheers!

P.S. How'd the best pharmacy post get on the site?

Thanks!

Main Message Board / Oven Question
January 04, 2009, 03:08:55 PM
We used our propane oven (Original to the boat) for the first time. Everything worked -- I think -- however, the oven never really did get hot. How long does it take to heat up?

Cheers!
