You could also try tightening the back stay

Main Message Board / Simply Blue Sold
June 02, 2016, 12:55:35 PM
Hello All,
With some sadness, "Simply Blue" sailed away with her new owners last Thursday
After 20 years of sailing we decided to pursue other interests
Thank you all for the help and insights that made being a C34 owner a great experience
I have encouraged the new owner to become an active member.
Cheers

I just replaced mine.
Removed all 4 , removed old sealant, prepped the open frame and covered with shrink wrap and tape.
I took the windows to a local plastics guy.He was able to replicate the the old ones. Well almost , bit of a long story.
However they are in in a dark tint looks good.
Make sure to put some black paint on the little strip between head and aft cabin bulkheads

We have the same bladder tank in ours. It was factory install.
I never use it though. Run out of holding capacity before we run out of water from the forward tank

There is a watertight SS thru hull adapter that you can run the cable through if you don't want to use the vent.

Mine is on the transom as my panel is mounted on the davits

Same here. Small rubber backed carpet.
Tiles are really useful insulators for lining lockers lazarette etc

There are ways to live without the walk thru transom.
There have been many discussions here about modifying the stern pulpit and adding swim platforms.
We love our '86.

Paul,

Our blocks are attached to the mast step base or collar if you prefer

I used butyl tape to re bed the Garhauer traveler. The supports were leaking very badly.
The PO used silicone to bed and fill the old bolt hole.

Cory,

Parkbridge has deep pockets , but you should still contact your insurance company just in case.

I replaced my rubrail a couple of years ago. switched from brown to grey.
Have a little left over.
How big of a section do you need ?

I am still wrestling with the idea of a windlass. Electric, manual, horizontal or vertical. This is an interesting approach
I wonder how the SS plate was secured.
I suppose you could back the existing doors with steel or aluminum for the same effect but with a more aesthetic appeal

Make sure that you install the new shaft without the new cutlass bearing installed or you will never get it in past the rudder

We did actually swap keels. We preferred the wing keel for sailing shoal infested Georgian Bay. Another C34 Member was looking for a Fin keel to sail Lake Michigan.
It was a win win for us and two respective boatyards made some money on labour

I need to replace the main halyard. I replaced it a few years ago with line that was too small.
Can i go with 1/2 "? What is recommended?
