Slightly off topic.  The Admiral bought me this small plastic welder for Christmas.  On Amazon called "Bondic".  It is for small repairs.  Haven't tried it yet so can't say if it works.  Might be worth trying on a small water tank crack.

If i remember correctly, lemon juice also works pretty well.  spray it on, light scrub, wash off.

The flux gate (compass) is normally a part of the autopilot.  The chart plotter should figure out the course on it own using gps data.  May need a software update or reload.

Sailing in that part of the river is great.  Had a C22 there for several years in the 80s.  Area has built up a lot since then and have no current knowledge of the marinas.  Owners of the marina had a 40' cape dory so plenty of water.

Contact the factory.  When they do a rendezvous they normally do a poster for each owner as a door prize.  They may have some leftovers they could mail you.

you may want to remove it while the boat is on the hard. I'm sure your yard has a lift that can accommodate 400 lbs.  I don't any friends that can lift that kind of weight, much less get it down the dock and into a truck.  As others have said, it is easy to mitigate the inherent list by stowing thing on the starboard side.

Fedex delivered a day early :D  The old alt had a small red wire to the neg terminal, large red wire on the plus, purple wire on the excite and orange wire on the ac tap.  New alt only has the + and - posts marked.  I've got a yellow wire coming out of the voltage regulater to a plug, a red wire from the VR going to a post and another post with nothing on it.

Romaine Electric model 7495N  It does not come with a pulley.

Tested bad.  Advanced Auto is one of the few places that will do off vehicle testing.  New on order from ebay.  $123 free shipping.

boat is for sale again.  only used it 5 times last year because of weather and family issues.  It needs a new loving home.  Anyway, moving it to the broker's yard yesterday the tach fell to 0 and it stopped charging.  Took the alternator apart, diode pack appears to test ok and brushes are good.  Anything else I can check before I get it bench tested tomorrow.  Numbers are too faded to read.  If it tests bad, what part number should I replace it with?  Prestolite 55 amp.  If it tests ok, where is the next place to look.  All the wires are in good shape and connections tight at the generator.  I have not checked behind the engine instruments yet.

Nice boat.  A friend has a similar 42 or 43.  Unless they have changed the system, you will miss the engine fuel self bleed that the 34 has.

10.5' rib.  Garhaurer davits.  Love em. stored in front of the mast for years.  Now in the water in 2 minutes.  Raised, the tender is above the deck.  Does limit the view astern.  Dont know how I did with out.

Lots of choices for replacements.  If you want to have a "freezer" compartment, highly recommend the Sea Frost.  They custom build to your needs.  Standard plumbing was something like 10'.  I needed 14'.  No extra charge.

Common problem.  Buy one on Amazon or a local car parts store.  I mounted mine so it was visible through the engine access door in the head.  Wire it to the output of the alternator and ground.
