Need to order a y valve so I can get my wash down system working again.  Anybody know what size the macerator thru hull is?  I think it is 1/2" NPT, but hate to order the wrong size.

Accommodations Below the Catalina 34 is designed with a modern aft cabin arrangement, maximizing space and affording a high degree of privacy. John is right on the sizes.  Took 8' of the 1/4 and 10' of 3/8.  Plenty of extra.  Original routing did not make sense, my runs are more direct, therfore some extra slack.  But better to have too much than not enough.

Checked the wiki and did a quick search, couldn't find the answer.  I think the fuel lines are 5/8", anyone know how much hose I will need to change both the supply and return lines.

When I upgraded to the new eliptical rudder I disected my old one.  took about 2 hours of banging and sawing, they are made very strong.  I would start with the grinding to see how deep the crack is.  May only be on the top layer.  If deeper I would call Catalina and ask, they are very helpful in situations like this.

Recently purchased a new toy.  95 VW camper van.  Simple system, start battery and house battery.  House is charged by engine through a selenoid or via shore power.  Second day of our first road trip killed the house battery because the selenoid failed. Would like to add a circuit to show the house is getting charged.  Have a couple ideas.  Electrical Guru's what do you think?  One pic shows a warning light.  I think I will use a volt meter instead.  I only   want to show charging when the engine is running not house battery voltage.  Have a seperate system for that.

every time I have had reduced flow it has been from barnacles growing in the intake.  Have a diver check from the outside or remove the strainer and use a length of wooden dowel to remove any resrictions.  Once you find the right size dowel, put a string around it and hang it from the fuel pump for next time.

Jut to follow up it is a Sureflow pump.  Date stamp 1989, probably original to the boat.  Cracked pump housing.  New one on order.

hard to tell from the pictures, but that looks like your over pressure relief valve.  They sometimes fail in the open position.  Take off the drain hose, unscrew and replace with new one.  Should be available at any good hardware/plumbing store.

I was on the boat yesterday getting ready to be pulled for the approaching hurricane.  I noticed a leak from what looks like the pressure switch or perhaps the pump itself.  I tightend the screws, didn't help.  Didn't have time to investigate more.  Is there a gasket that maybe failed or should I be looking for a new pump.

I get the USCG Aux to do a safety inspection on my boat every year.  Overboard discharge is one of the inspected items.  I drilled a small hole in the end of the handle, use a zip tie around the hose and a second from the first through the handle to hold it closed.  15+ inspectors have all said that was sufficient.  Everyone knows there are ways around, along as you show intent to obey the law they accept what ever method you choose.  This is on the Chesapeake, other locations may be more strict.
