last month i decided to sell march hare to clear my way to do some extensive cruising on the east coast and points south. i mentioned it to a friend on my dock and within 3 days i had 3 different friends wanting to buy it. i think everyone recognized that a well-cared for used c-34. is a great buy and the most bang for the buck. i plan to continue to monitor this board for all of its helpful imfo. joe

on your routine maintenance items such as oil and gas filters, drive belt, impellers,etc do you have an on-line location that you order from or do you use  some other resource?

on saturday, the smell of burning rubber and smoke caught my attention. the culprit was the circlating pump on the engine. it had frozen up and the drive belt was its victim. can someone tell me the best place to purchase a new pump.is this something to get from catalina. tx joe

i am getting some water into the head when it rains. by opening the cabinet in the head the location is easily located. it appears to come from the exterior drain on the port side. i put silicon on the recessed drain where there are some hairline cracks in the gelcoat. still leaks. i think the problem is the finger size hole leading from the deck to the boat exterior. has anyone had to repair such a problem.

i would be interested in some input on getting the best performance form the jib at different points of sail in relation to movement of the genoa cars forward or aft on the rails and when to use the outer rail rather than the inner one. some of you who have raced should have some good imfo to share. tx. joe

the woman who orders me around has sirius radio for her car and wants me to install it on the boat. for any of you who have run this gauntlet, what did you find to be the easiest to accomplish it.

i've recently been looking at purchasing a boat in florida or the southeast-atlantic. can someone give me an idea on what mooring costs and slip fees usually run. tx joe

my rub rail has come out several times and i have put it back in. i have read the posts about replacing it with a new one and also the hints about putting it back in the groove. i realize that the rail is getting old and inflexible ( like its owner).is anyone aware of anything that can be done to help keep it in short of buying a new one.

I noted that a number of people use sentinels when they anchor overnight. I would be interested in how you've done this and any steps used to avoid chafe on the rode.

since i took possession of march hare,i've had a problem with starting the engine when i'm ready to return to port. in the slip, the engine starts readily on the start battery. when i'm ready to return to the slip,the start battery will hardly turn over the engine, and certainly not enough to start the motor. i've had to turn the selector to the "all" position. the motor turns slowly but has then started. thinking it was a bad battery i bought a new one, but i have the same problem. the new battery checked ok across the poles before i hooked it up but did not provide the zip to start on the second try. any suggestions. tx joe

where may a central air conditioner be placed for good efficiency

i have just purchased a 1988 c-34. when i decided to lower the salon table to make a berth i assumed i only needed to untighten the bolt on the table leg and it would lower. i did and it didn't. is there something else i am supposed to do or is it not operating correctly?
