Has anyone had a poster or muriel made from a picture of a Catalina 34? I'm a previous owner and would like to have something like this made. My problem is that I don't have any pictures of my boat under sail so I would also need to find someone that I could provide a jpeg or a similar type file to have made, maybe even from Catalina. Any help or ideas appreciated.

I think you'll need to buy a new one, Mark

Maybe you should check to see if it's repairable. The places that make custom tanks could probably tell you.
BTW I had a '89 Catalina and never a problem.

If you like Mission Bay, Marina Village is pretty Nice. I was there for Five years and was treated well.
It's been awhile since I was there but at the time we were paying about $500 per month.
It's about a four hour sail to get to the SD main harbor since you have to go off shore a bit to go around the kelp beds at the point.

I'm assuming the tool you're talking about looks like an allen wrench with a hollow center. Does that sound right? When I bought my nav pod it came with the allen wrench type tool but I think it also came with a straight one that you could put in a drill chuck. I also was able to fine a tool in my box that worked with a screw driver type handle. It is a tool that I used when I worked for Bell Telephone and is made by Stanley and has a KS-19192 designation number on it which is a bell tell designation so I don't know if that will come up on the net or not. Hope that helps. You could try Harbor Freight of Sears.

One advantage of having two shut off valves is that you can fill both tanks from the aft tank if both valves are open and you can also leave the aft tank full  and then fill the stbd tank when it runs out.

I bought a whole house water filter at Home Depot and adapted it to connect to my hose from the dock. It worked out pretty well.

Do you know of any 34's that have done the "Bash" back up north? I've done it twice on other peoples boats and it's not too bad if you're not in a hurry and keep an eye on the weather reports and carry extra fuel.

And don't forget that vented loop in the water supply.

Here's an idea for you

Stu, I don't know if they have them but I've always had better luck with parts and better service with Catalina Yachts than Catalina Direct. They just seem to go that extra mile when you need it. I would defiantly try them and their prices seem to be better too.

Did you or can you leave enough slack in the hoses so that they could be swapped in case one tank runs out?

Have you looked at the dog ramps made for use with Pick Up trucks?
