Yes it is.

Did you notice any improvement over the non elliptical it replaced?
Not going to lie I don't know.
I am not a sailer was a power boater my whole life, we wanted to slow down and enjoy water
and got a sailboat.
So never really put a rail in the water.
Still backs with a walk to port and doesn't respond till you get some speed and put it in neutral.
Mine was cracked at the post and did not want to take chance.

KH3412,

Is that rudder the upgraded elliptical shoal draft?

Yes it is. Think with shipping it was cheaper than CD

Bought mine two years ago from Catalina.

Back to winterizing.
You may want to put some antifreeze in the false bilges in the back part of the hull.
Cracked my hull in between the strut and rudder.
Easiest way was just pour some antifreeze down past the propane locker.
The bilge area is below the rear water tank.
I filled and glassed over the areas on my boat.

Before digging out the strut check the small bilges for cracks and water. Had the same leak
On mine.

Come to think of it. I had to pull it a second time as I dropped something in the new trans. Did it in place as I knew what bolts had to come out.

Phil have to take bellhousing off. I put the engine in the valley and did it on the floor. Wiring is not to bad, seven wires I think. You want a hand let me know

Since you're going to do glass work go ahead and drill into the block and see what you have. My boat was rotted and had to repair. https://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,9208.msg67300.html#msg67300

I also would have a mutiny on my hands. The 34 is quite possibly the perfect size boat, my point was I just want the hull of a 25

Who doesn't want a bigger boat.
We all suffer from two foot envy.
Oh the extra room.
Two heads.
But then reality sets in for those of us in the north.
Paint the bottom, buff the side, and then wax them
Boy a Catalina 25 is sure looking good right now.

Just saying

Move heat exchange to rear wall to allow access to trans fill.

Hope this helps with placement of hole.
The three bolt holes you see in the second picture are the rear pulpit front stanchion mount.
Your bolts are about 6 inches in front.
