Title: Head hull thru hull
Post by: jstrane on June 14, 2014, 05:32:02 AM
We've just purchased and moved to Lake Lanier a very nice 2006 C34mkii which appeared for sale on this site.  My question regards the head thru hull which appears completely closed but also seems to be leaking and filling the holding tank.  The macerator was completely disconnected during recommissioning so that couldn't be a factor.   Thoughts appreciated.

jst : Disconnect the large hose (1 1/2") from the bottom of the pump.  If it is leaking and water continues to drip out, you have a bad "Dry Bowl" valve in the top of the head pump assembly.  What is happening is the water is siphoning and/or the valve on the thru hull is not completely closing.

A few thoughts
