Title: V-Berth Cushion Insert
Post by: rmbrown on July 27, 2018, 03:19:59 PM
Does anyone have a picture of the v-berth cushion insert in place in the lower position, as a seat?  I'm going to cut a shelf to fit there and I'm wondering if I can make it out of something 13" deep rather than 14" (because I have a piece of mahogany that would look nice) but I want to be sure that it will be adequately supported.

Top seems pretty close to the bottom of the drawer frame.

The "trick" is to stop it from sliding/falling out of position. Lots written about that, I recall? I used two slide bolt underneath to "lock it" into holes I drilled into the gelcoat for the down position and the teak support rails for the up position. Still a bit of a PIA to line-up and lock.
