Title: Head Faucet/Shower
Post by: kss1220 on June 09, 2003, 03:06:11 PM
Has anyone had to replace the hose going from the hand-held faucet/shower spiket to the mixer/valve body?  This is the chromed spiral wound hose.  Mine has blown the inner rubber tube and has to be replaced.  I called Catalina and did not get very far.  Does anyone even know what brand the faucet is for a 1987?

I hate to spend $179.00 ona new faucet at WM.

Kelly -

I feel your pain.  I just had to buy a $25 cutoff attachment for my shower head so I could actually turn it off without completely turning off both the hot and cold water faucets (and then turning them both on again and adjusting the temperature with soap in my eyes.)  Grohe (www.grohe.com (http://www.grohe.com)) makes the shower head (and the $$$ part) so they probably make the hose also.  I got the $$$ part number from Ron Hill - try a search on "shower head"

I replaced the unit with parts from the local hardware store for under $20.

Thank you for the part numbers for the hand-held shower.  However, I can't call them up on the Grohe online catalog - it says "not found".  Is there another number or place to look them up?

I spoke with Grohe and you have to call them regarding the parts as they are speical order.  The parts cannot be ordered from Grohe direct.  You must go through one of their wholesellers.  Basically any plumming supply house can order them for you.
