Title: AC Install in Mk 1 C34
Post by: britinusa on October 16, 2015, 06:38:33 AM
Step 1 (after figuring everything out - at least I hope I have it figured out)
Install Shelf under V-Berth for the AC Unit.

Shelf location marked up and light sanding.

Plywood supports 5200'd in place (It's a glue!)

Made the Shelf templates from pieces of cardboard laid out on the supports, numbered and marked up.

Make shelf at home. (next)

Minor Mod- I removed the glued in support beams, unnecessary and slightly too high if I want to put a bit of anti vibration mat beneath the AC Unit.

Glassed the shelf in place (just lower and slightly further aft)

Set AC unit on the shelf on 1/2" rubber mat just to get a feel for where the hoses & wires have to go.

Next step is to secure the unit's tray to the shelf & install the electrics.

Control panel is going to be mounted at the NAV station, out of sunlight, far enough away from the air outlets and close enough to be within 15' of the AC unit's electrical panel.
