Title: Under Counter Light by Refridge - Mk1
Post by: sselinger on September 04, 2013, 05:39:40 AM
The First Mate managed to break the lamp housing when removing a container (or beer can) from the fridge. Don't seem to be able to find the lamp assembly on the Internet, so it's time for a new design. Wonder what others may have used to replace this lamp?

I replaced mine with this Led light from WM.

I wrote up a replacement in a Mainsheet article one or two issues ago.  www.marinebeam.com, like all LEDs specify warm white or the blue color will be too harsh.

We used this one:

That looks like a good choice - Marinebeam makes good products.  We used two of the Dr. LED lights that are similar, including one with a red light option so we could see in fridge at night.  One longer fixture would have been a better choice (and cheaper) in retrospect.  This would be a good choice over the chart table as well, another dark area in the boat.
