Ok, so of course today while steping my mast something happen, knocked the steaming light cap into the drink. crappy death. So now I have to get it replaced.
I have a 1990(#1019), I'm trying to find out the specs on it. Is it a forespar ML-2(http://www.forespar.com/onlineCatalog/2008/Sailboat/sailing_mastLights2008.shtml) or something else?
While I'm at it, would anyone happen to know who makes the mast head light? I need to replace the plastic cover as well since it seems like this season is the last one and the UV has just about killed it and it's pretty much falling apart.
My hull's pretty close to yours, but I don't think you can count on consistency with whatever CY installed as a steaming light, nor is it likely that the original is still in place; the genny can really beat these things up. I think you're going to have to identify it yourself, but I would also look at Aqua Signal (http://www.aquasignal.info/ecat/index.php?category_id=1&subcategory_id=1). Note that the Series 25 has triangular tabs that connect to the mast in only one point on each side (a key difference). Also note the barrel/cylindrical shape of the 25 versus the angled spot light of the #41. Also note that each of the Aqua Signal models has a more integrated connection between the flood and the steaming halves of the fixture, while the Forespar unit has the steaming light almost as a sconce sitting atop the flood (i.e., the prism is all around). Hope that helps. FWIW, I think the Aqua Signal products are sturdier
Thanks Jon, I'm almost 100% sure it's the same model as the ML-2. But I'll take a better look when I get down to the boat. Maybe bring the camera and take a picture.
I saw a replacement hood for about $15. I might go that way for now, and when the mast is down for the winter(sheeesh the mast just went up today and I'm already talking about the winter) replace the steaming lights and the mast head which is pretty much shot.
Sailing : The same thing happened to me. Call Forspar and they will sent you a new cap. Then when you put nit on put a small dab of caulk on the outside and that will keep it from flying off.

I agree :thumb: :thumb:. When I needed a new spring for my 10 year old rigid vang (which they didn't make anymore) they sent me one for free too.
