Thanks Joe!
Bill : I've found that the Parts Manual has much more usable/valuable info than the shop manual.
Unless you're planing a rebuild!! A thought.
I purchased a copy from the local distributor and IMO it is geared to someone with a lot more mechanical aptitude than the normal boater. Not a lot of help.
Very amateurish printing quality as well. All it does is reinforce the fact that I should leave the heavy duty stuff to the experts.
We just came back from a two week cruise up to Princess Louisa Inlet and the Canadian gulf islands. Lots of motoring...I am now trying to locate a small coolant leak.
I am disturbed by the number of hoses that exhibit wear from vibration rubbing on the engine or engine compartment. Those with MkIIs take note.
As well the hot water line to the sink faucet blew off again (second time) and flooded the drawer underneath the sink...that crimped connection is a POS!!! First time it went was when the boat was 4 months old. I have put a SS hose clamp on...this should be SOP from the factory...like I need an Italian faucet!!!!!!! I do not trust Catalina's hot water system. We will boil water when needed.

lewis marine has about everything http://www.lewismarine.com/
I got my manuals (had to replace after storm damage) out of a place in Portland Oregon, but I'm having trouble finding the link.
canuck,
I had a small coolant leak with our Mkll and it turned out to be at the hot water tank. The hose clamps on both connections were only finger tight. Hard to get at to tighten but that solved my problem.

Jack kinda changed the subject, to coolant loss, but you may not have seen this discussion of the ABSOLUTE NEED TO replace the hoses from the engine to the DHW heater: http://c34.org/bbs/index.php?topic=3769.0
