Title: Mast manufacturer
Post by: Craig Illman on January 21, 2006, 09:40:47 AM
I just replaced the standing rigging on Espresso 1991 #1150. The rigger didn't think my Forespar mast was typical. Doesn't anyone know if this is true or not for this year hull?

Craig : I believe that Catalina made their own masts and booms.  They changed to Charleston Spars sometime in the mid ? 1990s .  I suspect that your original mast was made by Catalina.   :think

Thanks, maybe it was the Forespar fittings that lead him to that conclusion.

My 1988 #707 was sent back to Forespar for some work on it and repainted at Forspar. This was done after it was about two years old. It just seems to me that Forespar made the original mast, but who knows? Maybe CY just had the painting done there at Forespar.
