Title: How do you get a Seaward 10lb propane plastic box to fit in
Post by: sailingdolphin on September 26, 2003, 06:45:04 AM
I even took off the lazarette hatch and I can't get it through the opening. It looks like it misses it by about a 1/2" for the width.

Do you think that material could be cut and glued back together with something?

Thanks :)

When I talked to Seaward, they told me the largest tank/box that would fit in the MK1 was a 4lb. I just purchased an 8.8 lb steel tank and if I make my own box it should just barely fit. You may still need to use your bar while you consider options.

The tank will fit but the box will not unless you cut it to get it in the stern lazarette. Once in its not  a problem.

Does anyone know the best stuff to use to glue that kind of plastic back together?

Thanks

Ron,
I like your project but I already have this box for  a 10 lb. tank made of the same stuff as the lid.

I want to take the tank out cut the box to fit it in and glue it back together inside the lazarette.

Any suggestions on what to use to glue it back together.
Thanks.

Ron,

Thank you, that is exactly what I am looking to do but did not know what it was called.

I need to find out what kind of tool you need to fuse that plastic together, "Hot air weld".
