I am in the process of changing out my rusty throttle cable, I have an edson steering pedistal, how do I open it up to reach the end of the throttle cable. 1989 cat 34. Thanks .

You carefully remove the compass.
 
 Edson most likely has good instructions on their website (my guess www.edson.com). I know their yearly catalogs are full of good tech stuff.
