I also have been on a Bavaria 37. The head related thruhulls were all under the sink. On port tack they were all out of the water and you couldn't wet flush the head. So much for german engineering.....

Peggy : Yes, Catalina did put a decal that states "IMPORTANT IMPORTANT" close thur hull after each use of the head!!
            It's a CYA on their part.

Guys : FYI, If you look at the original/replacement parts list instructions for your Jabsco head, they have a        diagram of how to install a vented loop in the flush water system. 
   
          A few thoughts.
