Has anyone had to replace their main sliding hatch (old style smoked plexiglas)
on a MkII.  Did you replace with another plexiglas or change to the newer
fiberglass?  Where there any issues with installation? Thanks in advance.

Don't know if this answers your question.  I have a fiberglass hatch.  A couple of years ago I removed and reset my sliding companion way hatch.  Did it for two reasons, the seahood leaked and the hatch didn't slide well.  The job was straight forward but very time consuming.  The hatch had a lot of interferance sliding, I sanded the hatch some and the interferring area some (really quite a lot) till the hatch was sliding only on the outside edges.  Then I replaced the sliding tape (with HDM? tape) same as the original.  It has worked very well since the fix.
Hope this helps
