I submitted our request for documentation in August and have just heard from them.  They needed a copy of the bill of sale or the state registration showing our name as legal owners now.  Those shallow water sailors do an alright job.

 Very Happy Ron is right on...........during the documentation process, I called the documentation staff twice to clarify the final cost and correct information needed despite working with a knowledgable broker and having documented a boat myself 7 years earlier. But, I was also redocumenting the boat as the new owner and there is one additional verification required - I think you said you are documenting the boat for the first time - if so, you shouldn't have this additional step. But, it is worth calling - they are very helpful at simplifying the process.
