Hi all, we're looking to enter s/v PainKiller in the 34 Nationals comming up.  We haven't raced her much (Three bridge, Doublehanded) and we were wondering what the opinion on optimum crew would be.  we were thinking six, but I know we could have as many as eight.  What do you guys typically race with?  We won't be flying a spinnaker.

Rick:

Do come and join the fun!   If you want more information on the Nationals, let me know.

There are as many ideas about correct crew as there are boats sailing.  They range for 2 people to the maximum allowed under the one design rules which is 8.  We race Crew's Nest with some success with a crew of 5 - more than that and we start falling all over each other.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the info Ray,  We've been thinking about a crew of 6, but you never know who's going to show up!  Look forward to seeing you at the race, I'm sure we'll be looking at your stern most of the time!!
