Original solenoid still works, amazingly. See picture.
Bought new unit (pictured)
Looking for ideas of anchoring it to the fibreglass in the propane locker.
Maybe use 1 or 2 of these padded clamps around the "in" and "out" hoses.

The solenoid should be as close to the tank as possible, which generally means screw it into the outlet of the regulator (no clamp needed.)   Do you intentionally choose to use a solenoid that is not listed for marine use?  If so (your boat, your choice):

Buy a strip of 1/16" thick aluminum bar at a big box.

Make a larger clamp for the body, similar to the clamp you have
Heat and bend it to fit into a loop, leaving the ends generously long, bend the right angle :ear: into one end, leaving the other end straight (like your clamp), drill a hole thru both ears - trim off the excess length.
Voila, a biggie clamp.

Cheers

You might put your engine info into an auto-signature

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the tradewinds in your sails.

Thanks for your ideas of anchoring the new solenoid.

I had not noticed the "for automotive use only" notice on the body of the new unit.
It was purchased from our marine supply shop here in Victoria, BC. Trotac Marine. I assumed that it was suitable for the purpose.

Guys : It just amazes me to see such rusted items on owners boats. Guess that some people NEVER inspect items on their vessels !???
